SEO for beauty salons and clinics
Turn "near me" searches into bookings, not just Instagram likes.
Local SEO from £250/month. 12-month minimum term.
A lot of salons put their energy into social media, but people looking for a treatment nearby usually search Google and pick from the map results, photos and reviews. A profile with old photos, no booking link and missing treatments loses those bookings.
Local SEO keeps the Google profile complete with treatments, a booking link, photos and reviews, and gives the site clear treatment pages that can show in search. SearchSure offers Local SEO for UK businesses, including beauty salons, from £250/month with a 12-month minimum term. Not sure where you stand? Your Google Business Profile for a salon
- Categories. Pick the primary category for the main business, for example "Beauty salon" or "Nail salon", and add secondary categories only for services you genuinely offer.
- Booking link. Add the booking link so customers can book straight from Google. If you use a booking platform, link to the correct salon page on it.
- Treatments. Use the services or menu section to list treatments with plain names customers search for. Prices are optional but help customers choose; keep them current.
- Photos. Photos matter more here than in most sectors: interior, team at work (with consent), finished results (with client consent). Upload regularly.
Shopfront salons vs mobile therapists
A salon customers visit shows its address and should keep opening hours exact.
A mobile beautician or therapist who travels to clients should set up a service-area business with the address hidden. A therapist renting a chair in someone else's salon should think carefully before creating a separate profile at that address; it can clash with the salon's own listing.
Reviews are booking-driven
- Salons get frequent repeat visits, so a steady review flow is realistic. Ask after appointments, for example in the booking confirmation follow-up, without incentives or discounts for reviews.
- Reviews left on booking platforms do not automatically appear on Google. Ask for Google reviews as well.
- Reply in general terms. Do not mention the treatment a client had or anything about their skin, body or health.
Instagram and Google working together
Social profiles are linked from the site and Google profile, but Google search relies mostly on the website and Google profile. Repurpose the strongest social photos for the profile and treatment pages, with consent.
Treatment pages
Separate pages for the main treatment groups, for example nails, lashes and brows, facials, waxing or massage, help the site match searches. Each page can cover what the treatment is in plain words, how long it takes, price guidance and how to book. Keep examples to non-medical beauty treatments only.
What this page covers
This page is for beauty and skin salons and clinics offering everyday beauty treatments such as nails, lashes, brows, facials, waxing and massage. We do not use medical or clinical treatments as examples, and we do not advise on how those are advertised. If a clinic offers that kind of work, the clinic is responsible for its own advertising and content.
Free website review
What the free website review usually checks
These are the kinds of things the review looks at for a salon. Your report shows what applies to your own site and listings, and what to fix first.
- No booking link on Google, or one pointing to an old or wrong page
- Treatments only listed on the booking platform, not on the website
- Out-of-date photos or none
- Opening hours on Google that differ from the booking platform
- Business name variations between Google, the booking platform and directories
- Heavy, slow image galleries on mobile
